Canadian Regulatory Agency Warning Regarding Counterfeit Drugs Sold Online
Health Canada has warned Canadians about potentially counterfeit drugs sold on three Web sites, which are listed on the NABP Not Recommended list. The Canadian regulatory agency notes that prescription drugs for sale on sites Northdrugmart.com, Northdrugstore.com, and Pharmacyrxworld.com have not been authorized for sale in Canada. The products sold on these sites resemble drugs approved in Canada and contain references to brand names which may lead Canadian consumers to believe the products are safe. Health Canada notes that the drugs are suspected to be counterfeit and provides additional information in a news release. More information about counterfeit medications and other risks of buying prescription drugs on the Internet is available in the Buying Medicine Online section of the NABP Web site.
