Board Members to Focus on Priority Issues at New Interactive Member Forum

Developed to provide state board of pharmacy members with opportunities to discuss and gain new information about issues of highest priority to the boards, the 2010 NABP Interactive Member Forum will take place September 22-23, 2010, at NABP Headquarters in Mount Prospect, IL.

The forum will address timely topics as well as provide in-depth information about NABP programs that are available to help the boards as they work to protect public health through pharmacy regulation. Ample time will be provided for discussion among board members.

In early July, Boards received a survey through which they could suggest topics to be covered in the forum. The opportunity was provided so as to ensure that attendees received information on topics that are of particular interest to the boards.
Each state board of pharmacy executive officer was invited to select one board member to attend the forum at no charge. Airfare, hotel accommodations, and meals will all be paid by NABP. In addition, there is no registration fee for the meeting.

As NABP President William T. Winsley, MS, RPh, remarked at the 106th Annual Meeting, offering the meeting free of charge and covering travel expenses is intended to facilitate participation by as many member boards as possible. Maximum participation by boards will allow for increased opportunity for networking as members use the forum to share ideas and develop potential solutions to meet com¬mon challenges. In addition, NABP will invite new executive officers to attend the 2010 forum.

The 2010 NABP Interactive Member Forum will initiate a triennial rotating schedule and will be followed by the NABP Interactive Executive Officer Forum, to take place in fall 2011, and the NABP Interactive Compliance Officer Forum, to take place in fall 2012.
