2008-2009 Report of the Task Force to Review TOEFL iBT Score Requirements
The Task Force to Review TOEFL iBT Score Requirements met October 28-29, 2008
Task force members reviewed their charge and accepted it as follows:

Review and analyze the present passing standard for the speaking portion of the TOEFL iBT recognized by NABP for successful completion of the TOEFL iBT requirement of the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Committee (FPGEC) certification in the context of whether:
- a. the passing standard required by NABP is equivalent to the requirements for graduates of pharmacy programs accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE);
- b. the passing standard required by NABP represents the appropriate communication skills needed to enter pharmacy practice; and
- c. the standard required by other, similar health programs such as medicine, nursing, and the allied health professions is congruent with NABP’s requirement.

Recommend future steps for NABP to either:
- a. maintain the current passing standard requirement; or
- b. conduct a new standard setting exercise.
