2003-2004 Report of the Task Force on Counterfeit Drugs and Wholesale Distributors
The Task Force on Counterfeit Drugs and Wholesale Distributors met on October 29-30, 2003.
The members of the Task Force on Counterfeit Drugs and Wholesale Distributors reviewed their charge and, proposing no changes accepted it as follows:
- The Task Force on Counterfeit Drugs and Wholesale Distributors is charged to review the applicability of the NABP Model Regulations on Wholesale Distributors to determine if the Model Regulations provide appropriate guidance to the state boards of pharmacy to properly regulate wholesale distributors and combat the influx of counterfeit drugs into the US medication distribution system. The Task Force is further charged to recommend changes to the NABP Model State Pharmacy Act and Model Rules, if necessary, to address problems with the regulation of wholesale distributors and/or the introduction of counterfeit drugs into the medication distribution system.
