Pre-FPGEE®
Frequently Asked Questions

1.What is the Pre-FPGEE?
The Pre-FPGEE is the only Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Examination® (FPGEE®) practice examination written and developed by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy® (NABP®). It is meant to help familiarize students with the FPGEE testing experience.

2.Who should take the Pre-FPGEE?
The Pre-FPGEE is intended to benefit pharmacy students who are preparing for the FPGEE. However, anyone who is interested may register and take the Pre-FPGEE. There are no eligibility requirements to take the Pre-FPGEE.

3.How can the Pre-FPGEE help applicants prepare for the FPGEE?
The questions on the Pre-FPGEE are actual questions that have previously appeared on the FPGEE. The form contains items based on the same blueprint used for the FPGEE.

4.How is the Pre-FPGEE scored?
The Pre-FPGEE is scored in a similar fashion as the FPGEE. Students who complete the examination will be given an estimated scaled score based on their answers to the Pre-FPGEE questions. Candidates will have the ability to print their score report for their personal records. Pre-FPGEE scores will not be released to anyone other than the applicant.

5.What should applicants do to prepare for the Pre-FPGEE?
Preparing for the Pre-FPGEE should at the very least include reviewing the FPGEE competency statements and the associated knowledge base of a recent US pharmacy school graduate. The FPGEE competency statements can be found in the FPGEC Examination Bulletin.

6.How does an applicant’s performance on the Pre-FPGEE relate to his or her performance on the actual FPGEE?
Similar to other practice examinations, an applicant's score on the Pre-FPGEE is similar to what he or she can expect to receive on the FPGEE, but may not be the actual score attained, nor is it a guarantee of passing the actual examination.

7.Do applicants get to review the questions?
No, reviewing a completed examination and "going back" during the examination is not permitted.

8.Can applicants obtain a printed version of the Pre-FPGEE?
No, the Pre-FPGEE is only administered via a computer.

9.Where can the Pre-FPGEE be accessed?
The Pre-FPGEE can be accessed by visiting www.nabp.net, www.pre-FPGEE.com, or www.preFPGEE.com and following the appropriate links.

11.Can an applicant take the Pre-FPGEE more than once?
