Pharmacy Authenticated Licensure Service® (PALS) Program
Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is the PALS Program?
The Pharmacy Authenticated Licensure Service® (PALS) program is designed to assist organizations in determining appropriately licensed online pharmacies as well as enable Internet pharmacies to demonstrate that they are properly licensed and in good standing.

2. When was the PALS program developed?
In April 2006, PALS was created after organizations approached NABP seeking assistance with confirmation of licensure of their advertisers that are online pharmacies, many of which are licensed in several jurisdictions. PALS can provide online pharmacies with documentation for licensure portion of due diligence reporting to potential partners.

3. How does NABP authenticate the Internet pharmacy?
The Internet pharmacies must submit a detailed application that includes licensure information for the pharmacy, and the pharmacist in charge (PIC). The PALS team will review the application and perform an authentication check of licensure for both the pharmacy and PIC in all applicable states. The PALS team also checks for disciplinary actions through the NABP Disciplinary Clearinghouse, and NABP member state boards. If the Internet pharmacy meets the PALS program requirements, the Internet pharmacy is issued a PALS link to display on the Web site.

4. How can my organization receive the regular reporting services offered by PALS?
You may contact NABP and ask to speak with a PALS’ representative. The PALS staff will help you determine the best fit of reporting services for your organization.
